Willem Dafoe is in discussions to take the role of Sheriff Wyatt Porter in ODD THOMAS, reports Variety. He joins Anton Yelchin and Addison Timlin.
Based on Dean Koontz's series, Odd Thomas uses his supernatural intuition to track a man he calls the Fungus Man, who is surrounded by spirits that signal impending death. Sheriff Porter is the one in the book that creates cover stories for Odd Thomas' investigations.
Stephen Sommers wrote the script and will direct. Fusion Films' John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan are the producers.
Production will begin on May 2 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
