Cyberchase Scares Up Creature Feature Week On PBS Kids

A special Halloween-themed episode of CYBERCHASE, "Trick or Treat," premieres Oct. 28, 2003 (check local listings) as part of a "Creature Feature" week invading PBS KIDS on PBS. The award-winning PBS series, ARUTHUR, will also dole out five Halloween-themed episodes, airing Oct. 27-31.

In "Trick or Treat," Hacker (Christopher Lloyd) shows up at Motherboard Control Central and claims he's reformed; he doesn't want to be a bad guy anymore. He even presents Motherboard with a little robotic frog. Is this a trick or a treat? When no one's looking, Hacker slips the frog into an airduct. Digit (Gilbert Gottfried) and the kids must figure out how it works and stop it before it takes over.

Other CYBERCHASE episodes airing during the Creature Feature week are "Harriet Hippo and the Mean Green" on Oct. 27, "A Whale of a Tale" on Oct. 29, "Castleblanca" on Oct. 30 and Trick or Treat" will repeat on Oct. 31.

Special AUTHER episodes include, "What Scared Sue Ellen?" on Oct. 27, "The Fright Stuff" on Oct. 28, "The Boy Who Cried Comet" on Oct. 29, "Night Fright" on Oct. 30 and "Fernkenstein's Monster" on Oct. 31.

CYBERCHASE is produced by Thirteen/WNET New York and Nelvana Ltd. Exec producers are Sandra Sheppard, director of children's and educational programming at Thirteen, and Kristin Laskas Martin, former exec producer of the award-winning MAGIC SCHOOL BUS. Larry Jacobs, former director of MAGIC SCHOOL BUS, is animation director for Nelvana.

ARTHUR, produced by WGBH Boston and CINAR, is based on Marc Brown's bestselling books and is one of the most watched children's television programs, with nearly 12 million weekly viewers overall (Source:NTI October 2002 through June 2003).
