Cuppa Coffee Mixes Music And Comedy For Prime Time Success

Cuppa Coffee has finalized a deal with SBS Television in Australia for the soon-to-debut stop-motion comedy series, LIFE'S A ZOO.TV. The 20-episode series was first commissioned by Canadian Broadcaster, Teletoon, and heads up the new line up of shows debuting on their post 9 p.m. Detour Zone.

Featuring a group of animals fighting for survival in a house in Saskatchewan, LIFE'S A ZOO.TV is aimed at the teens and up crowd and promises to deliver a hilarious new spin on the reality television genre.

According to Cuppa Coffee President and Executive Producer Adam Shaheen, SBS, which reaches more than 80 percent of homes in Australia, was quick to jump on board. "Like TELETOON, SBS came out of the blocks early on in our development and expressed interest," he explains. "They've shown great enthusiasm for our original, unique animation driven by exceptional comedy writing," he said.

Shaheen's studio also looked to cement the relationship with SBS by simultaneously signing a home video and DVD deal with their video distribution arm. "SBS is known internationally for their success at exposing Australian viewers to the most cutting edge of international programming -- it was the perfect fit for Cuppa Coffee Studios," Shaheen added.

SBS Television begins airing LIFE'S A ZOO.TV this fall.
