Cuppa Coffee Launches Life's a Zoo.tv

Cuppa Coffee Studios' new stop-motion animated comedy series LIFE'S A ZOO.TV is being formally launched at MIPCOM. With thirteen half-hours aimed at the "teens and up" crowd slated for a spring 2008 delivery, LIFE'S A ZOO.TV promises to deliver a new spin on "reality" television alongside its own Web channel at lifesazoo.tv.

"The multi-platform property garnered so much interest on its first outing in April that Teletoon Canada was quick to snap it up for their popular Detour time slot" said Cuppa Coffee President Adam Shaheen. "Having them on board has encouraged other broadcasters and now that the show has gone into production, it's clear international interest has peaked."

Cuppa Coffee will be hosting an exclusive "by-invite-only" screening and breakfast at MIPCOM to reveal production details, introduce online strategy and close deals for international broadcast partnerships.

According to Shaheen, LIFE'S A ZOO showcases a growing trend and niche for good 16+ animated comedy, but also a growing acceptance that brands can also live on the Web and promise more than just show clips. "Networks need shows like LIFE'S A ZOO that push the envelope in terms of what we can do with the interactive online brand," he explains. "It keeps them in touch with a younger audience that is increasingly demanding something more from their programming."
