Montreal-based software developer Crater Software has released the latest version of its 2D cel animation software, CTP Pro version 1.5. In addition to reducing the list price of the software package to $1,299, the company has also released CTP Pro Lite, a limited version of CTP with the same ease of use interface, priced at $299. According to Crater Software President, Joe Alonso, "We have always looked out for the animation student and independent animator. With this price reduction we continue to support the animator without breaking any budgets." CTP Pro version 1.5 features include 40 different import and export file formats, including Flash; compatibility for painted and unpainted image files created using other 2D animation products; 30 image filters and special effects; timed image capture for stop-motion work, 3:2 pull-down export; and more.
