Cospective Taps Aspera for cineSync Pro 3.3

Cospective announces the integration of the file transfer technology, Aspera, into its video review software, cineSync Pro 3.3.

Adelaide, Australia -- Cospective has integrated Aspera's file transfer technology into its Academy Award-winning cineSync video review software. With cineSync 3.3, anyone with an Aspera server and a cineSync Pro account can now make high speed file transfers from within the cineSync interface. This makes reviewing large-file material in cineSync faster and easier, while maintaining a high level of security.

Developed by Cospective, cineSync is a remote review platform that allows multiple users to review video and film in sync, with anyone, anywhere in the world. cineSync’s intuitive drawing tools allow anyone in the session to draw right the image, as well as sharing written notes with everyone in the session.

Aspera's world-renowned fasp transport eliminates the bottlenecks of conventional file transfer technologies such as FTP and HTTP and dramatically speeds transfers over public and private IP networks.

“Using standard, unmodified IP networking, fasp achieves practically ideal throughput efficiency and is the industry standard for fast, reliable transfers,” said Neil Wilson, Head of Engineering at Cospective. "We have been able to seamlessly integrate fasp-based file transfers into cineSync's existing file transfer framework using the comprehensive Aspera SDKs.”

With Aspera software, file transfer times can be guaranteed, regardless of the distance between end-points or the dynamic conditions of the network, including transfers over satellite, wireless, and inherently long distance and unreliable international links. Built-in security includes secure endpoint authentication, on-the-fly data encryption and integrity verification. Content is not transferred through cineSync servers, but sent through users’ own servers.

Guests joining a cineSync Pro session are automatically granted an Aspera license for the duration of the session; there’s no requirement for them to purchase a separate one. This means that files for review can be uploaded through cineSync using Aspera. Guests invited to the session can download the files directly from the cineSync interface, with the same ease, speed and security. The process is transparent, requiring nothing more than clicking the download button.

"Aspera's file transfer technology is second to none and we're very excited to be able to offer Aspera transfers within cineSync,” said Rory McGregor, CEO of Cospective. “This is a fantastic integration for our customers.”

cineSync Pro runs on OSX, Windows and Linux systems and is sold worldwide by Cospective.
