Cookie Jar Ent. Signs TVN VOD & VVEC Home Vid Deals

Cookie Jar Ent. has signed a multi-year Video-On-Demand licensing deal with TVN Ent., the largest television on-demand company in the U.S., to distribute shows from Cookie Jar's extensive television catalog. Cookie Jar has signed a multi-year, multi-show home video distribution deal with Vivendi Visual Ent. Canada (VVEC).

TVN Ent. will include Jar's classic shows like WHITE FANG and well-known brands, such as THE BUSY WORLD OF RICHARD SCARRY, as part of TVN's "Kids Unlimited" VOD network, which TVN distributes to major cable operators and telco service operators in the U.S.

"Our new deal with TVN is reflective of Cookie Jar's strategy to license and promote its content on all the new VOD platforms ranging from cable, to IPTV and mobile," said Josette Bonte, Cookie Jar Ent. vp of digital media.

VVEC will license and distribute three new Cookie Jar properties, MAGI-NATION, WILL & DEWITT and BUSYTOWN MYSTERIES, The shows are set to debut in Canada this fall, as well as its popular action-adventure series and online multiplayer game, SPIDER RIDERS, VVEC will also distribute on home video. GERALD MCBOING BOING, a classic show from Cookie Jar's vast library, will also be distributed by VVEC. The first video release, season one of SPIDER RIDERS, goes on sale on Sept. 11, 2007.

VVEC also has the option to distribute additional titles from Cookie Jar's extensive show library.
