Cookie Jar Adds Another Creative Exec Ingredient

Cookie Jar Entertainment, the programming and licensing arm of The Cookie Jar Group (formerly Cinar), has appointed former Storyopolis co-founder/president of Storyopolis Prods., Fonda Snyder to the newly created position of svp creative development. Snyder will be responsible for identifying, packaging and producing high quality family entertainment properties for the company.

With her vast experience, Ms. Snyder is the ideal person to find and nurture exciting new properties for our company, said Toper Taylor, president/ceo, Cookie Jar. Her extensive relationships within the publishing and educational arenas will translate to previously untapped opportunities for us. In addition, she has a proven track record of being a topflight creative manager.

Snyder co-founded Los Angeles-based Storyopolis, and headed the companys entertainment and publishing division. She was directly responsible for providing strategic leadership in financial management, product acquisition, marketing, sales and creative development for all Storyopolis-branded properties. The company was created to be an innovative, franchise-oriented family entertainment company specializing in entertainment development and production, book publishing and exhibition and retail space.

Prior to establishing Storyopolis, Snyder served as a producer for The Starry Night Film Co. as well as for Merlin Ent., overseeing the production and development of such features films as PHOTOGRAPHING FAIRIES, THE BLANK PANTHER and CHARLIE CHAN. She identified and optioned properties, did script development, contract negotiations with talent and secured financing from investors.

previously Snyder was president of Dolshor Prods., partnering with Martin Short on the development and production of a slate of motion pictures and television projects for Walt Disney-Touchstone Pictures, including SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER, MONOPOLY and THE TOOTH FAIRY. She also served as vp of development for Gene Wilders production company, Pal-Mel Prods., working to create film and television properties for the actor who had first-look producing deals with Orion and Tri-Star Pictures during her tenure.
