Mermaids, Cavemen and Wizards all team up on store shelves for this week's major releases on Blu-Ray and DVD. There are a huge number of animated and VFX-driven home entertainment releases to help usher in the new fall (retail) season. The Croods (DreamWorks Animation, Blu-Ray & DVD, Rated PG)While the Digital HD version of “the first great animated film of 2013” has been available since September 1, the Blu-ray and DVD are chock-full of bonus material that will bring world of DreamWorks Animation’s family comedy The Croods home for the whole family to enjoy, including -- for a limited time only -- a Belt plush toy. The purchase of the Blu-ray or DVD unlocks additional content on The Croods Coloring App, which allows children to color their favorite characters and scenes from the film, add text and voice to the story, and then share their storybook on their TVs at home.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec: Director’s Cut (Shout! Factory, Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo pack)Containing all the original footage included in the acclaimed French release, the director’s cut edition of The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec is brimming with heart-pounding action, breathtaking cinematography and visceral special effects. Illustrating the magical power of moviemaking, this feature delivers a wildly entertaining cinematic adventure filled with humor, incredible action, mystery and lush Parisian period details. The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition (Disney Animation, Blu-Ray & DVD, Rated G)

One of the films credited for the “Disney Renaissance” of the 1980s and 1990s, this animated adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson tale focuses on Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of becoming human. Featuring the voices of Jodi Benson, Pat Carroll and Rene Auberjonois, this latest release is also available in a 3D Blu-Ray edition.

Littlest Pet Shop: Petacular Escapades (Shout! Factory Kids, DVD, Rated G) Blythe and her best friends -- Zoe the spaniel, Pepper the skunk, Sunil the mongoose, Russell the hedgehog, Penny the panda, Vinnie the gecko and Minka the monkey -- are back for five more exciting adventures in the Littlest Pet Shop with Littlest Pet Shop: Petacular Escapades on DVD.

Tiger & Bunny The Movie: The Beginning(VIZ Media DVD & Blu-ray, Rated TV-14)

The DVD and Blu-ray editions of this anime fan favorite feature special plot trailers and previews as well as a Weekly Hero Countdown segment. DVD Bonus Features include Production Art and footage from the Tiger & Bunny  U.S. World Premiere Event Special. The Blu-ray edition also contains over three hours of Bonus Features, including Production Art and footage from the Tiger & Bunny U.S. World Premiere Event Special, as well as an Anime Expo 2012 Tiger & Bunny Highlight Reel and interviews with the U.S. and Japanese voice actor cast and production staff.

The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Edition (Warner Home Video, Blu-Ray & DVD, Rated G)One of the most recognizable films of the 20th century celebrates another milestone with a new release. The classic tale starring Judy Garland, Bert Lahr and Ray Bolger follows Dorothy as she and her dog, Toto, are transported by a tornado into a magical world. This new anniversary edition is also available in a 3D Blu-Ray edition.
