Colorist Seamus O’Kane to Join The Mill

Seamus O'Kane has left VTR to join The Mills transatlantic telecine team of Fergus McCall, Adam Scott, Paul Harrison, Jamie Wilkinson, Tom Poole and James Bamford.

OKane, who begins in April, has worked with award-winning directors Ivan Zacharias, Steve Reeves, Stuart Douglas, Chris Palmer, Vince Squibb and Tom Carty. Among his many recent credits are: Stella ENGLISH AIRMAN (Zacharias), HSBC EASY RIDER (Palmer) and Lynx KUNG FU ROMANTIC (Tom Carty).

At VTR, Seamus was one of a team using a combination of Spirit and Spectre on both commercials and digital intermediate (DI) projects. Over many years, he has been closely involved with technology developers such as Pandora giving him valuable insights to contribute to The Mill's future plans for telecine.

The Mill New York, which has just won Design Week's award for Best Workplace Environment, begins its second phase of expansion this month. The new plans include kit upgrades and the installation of more flame and smoke suites.

In line with this expansion, The Mill NYs flame and production teams are also growing. Angela Botta joins from Nice Shoes as telecine producer; Jo Arghiris and Lily Crowley move from The Mills London studio to join New Yorks production team; and Westley, ex-A52, makes a further addition to the flame team.

The Mill ( specializes in high-end visual effects for commercials, music promos and television. Since 1990, The Mill has built an impressive client-base of some of the worlds best commercials directors, and advertising agencies handling accounts such as Levis, Pepsi, Guinness, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. In May 2002, The Mill opened in New York.
