'Cody the Robosapien' Heads to DVD

The live-action/animated feature film, “Cody the Robosapien,” heads to DVD June 25 from Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Los Angeles, CA -- Friends come in all shapes, sizes…and models!  Artificial Intelligence has never been so much fun as Anchor Bay Entertainment announced the release of Cody the Robosapien on DVD.  A brand-new live-action/animated feature film based on the best-selling Robosapien toy range, the new release is from a producer of X-Men, Spider-Man and Iron Man and directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, That’s So Raven).  The robot-filled romp centering on a tech-savvy whiz-kid and his unlikely new pal stars David Eigenberg, Penelope Ann Miller, Bobby Coleman, Kim Coates and more. Cody the Robosapien “powers up” at retail nationwide on June 25, 2013.

When inventor Allan Topher (David Eigenberg, Chicago Fire, Sex and the City) designed search and rescue robot, Robosapien, for Kinetech Labs, he never imagined the smart and spunky bot might end up in the evil hands of Kinetech executive Porter (Kim Coates, Black Hawk Down, Sons of Anarchy).  Once Porter’s wicked plot is revealed, Allan orders Robosapien to escape, but the robot is damaged in the process and discovered by 12-year-old Henry (Bobby Coleman, The Last Song, Private Practice), who fixes it and names it Cody.  The pair quickly becomes inseparable.  And when Porter returns with a vengeance and attempts to lure Cody back to Kinetech by kidnapping Allan along with Henry’s mother, Joanna (Penelope Anne Miller, Carlito’s Way, Kindergarten Cop), it’s up to Henry and Cody to pull the plug on Porter’s plan – and fast!
