Cinesite Launches Feature Animation Talent Program

‘iAnimate at Cinesite’ apprenticeship program provides the opportunity of online training and a two year contract as a trainee animator with Cinesite.

Montréal, Canada -- Visual Effects and Animation studio Cinesite has joined forces with leading online training company iAnimate to offer a new animation apprenticeship. “iAnimate at Cinesite” will foster new talent entering into the thriving Canadian visual effects and animation industry.

The apprenticeship offers successful applicants the opportunity of online training, a two year contract as a trainee animator with Cinesite and invaluable animated feature production experience.  Applicants, who must be eligible to work in Canada, are being encouraged to apply for the new apprenticeship via iAnimate’s website https://ianimate.net/.

iAnimate is a highly successful online training course which puts students directly in contact with veteran animators from the biggest and best studios.  Run by industry veteran Animation Director Jason Ryan, its complete set of workshops has a strong reputation for producing talented and production-ready recruits.

Cinesite announced in September 2014 that they have moved into animated feature film production at their 35,000 sq. ft Montréal studios.  Through a multi-picture deal with 3QU Studios they are currently working on a slate of animated films, the first of which, Charming, is set for release in 2016. Jason Ryan is currently working with Cinesite as Animation Director on Charming.

Cinesite head of animation Eamonn Butler and iAnimate founder Jason Butler. Cinesite Head of Animation Eamonn Butler says, “Cinesite has been investigating ways to invest in new talent for some time.  Jason and I share similar backgrounds in animation, both originating from Dublin and working together at Disney at a formative time in our careers.  We share an understanding of what skills are necessary for students to master in order to become successful professional animators; iAnimate has a history of delivering exceptional, production-focused training. This is the perfect fit for both of us.”

iAnimate co-founder Jason Ryan says, “This partnership with Cinesite is an amazing opportunity for our iAnimate.net training program and for the students that apply.  Cinesite has been producing amazing work for years and to have the opportunity to work on their newest fully animated features is a fantastic prospect for any of our up and coming talent.   The partnership is also a great testament to our Instructors and the feature quality work the students deliver with the guidance from their workshops.”
