CINANIMA Final Deadline This Week

CINANIMA has issued its final deadline for its 2011 festival.

CINANIMA has issued its final deadline for its 2011 festival. The deadline is July 15. The international competition includes such categories as short films, graduation/school films, commissioned films and feature films. The national competition includes prize young Portuguese director and prize Antonio Gaio. Films need to have been completed after January 1, 2010.

CINANIMA is an animation film festival organised by NASCENTE – Cooperative Society with Cultural Purposes and by Espinho’s City Hall. Every since its first edition, back in 1976, it has been developing a regular activity divulging this form of cinema and its authors, being, therefore, considered a precursor of the cultural decentralisation in Portugal. At the same time, CINANIMA has won international recognition, out of the main cultural poles of Lisbon and Oporto. The Festival is organized by a non-profit association, it is approved by ASIFA – Association International du Film d’Animation – and counts on the support of the Ministry of Culture/ ICA I.P. – Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, Ministry of Youth/ Portuguese Institute of Youth, Institute Turismo de Portugal, Ministry of Economy, Junta de Freguesia of Espinho and the sponsorship of several private entities, besides partnerships with the media.
