Chuck Dages To Oversee Emerging Technology for WB Home Ent.

Chuck Dages, who oversees Emerging Technology for Warner Bros., has been shifted from Technical Operations to Warner Bros. Home Ent. Group. He retains the title of EVP and continues to have oversight of Motion Picture Imaging (the studio's postproduction facility for film mastering, restoration and digital imaging for movies and television) and the Advanced Media Editorial department (which prepares feature films for distribution on airlines, cable networks and broadcast television). Additionally, he will lead various projects involving industry and government groups related to repurposing the studio's entertainment assets.

Dages, who will report directly to Kevin Tsujihara, president, Warner Bros. Home Ent. Group, will also work closely with Warner Bros. Technical Operations in evaluating and implementing new technologies across all divisions.

"Chuck is a key member of the team that has led our company into the digital space," said Tsujihara. "I'm confident that in this new expanded role, he'll continue to help us maintain our position as a tech leader in the industry, while defining the very future of our business."

Prior to his promotion, Dages served as EVP, Emerging Technology, Warner Bros. Technical Operations, where he was responsible for identifying new transformational technologies to improve, reinvent or create new business opportunities across all business units. Prior to joining Warner Bros., Dages held the position of VP of East Coast Operations andVP, Engineering at CBS Television Network.

Dages holds a B.S.E. from Stevens Institute of Technology and an M.S.E. from Pennsylvania State University, where he was honored as the 2005 Outstanding Engineering Alumni. He is a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture Engineers; a member of the National Television Academy's Award Committee and vice chair of the Technology Committee; board chairperson of the Entertainment Technology Center at the University of Southern California; TV Advisory board member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; and member of the Game Developer Assn. He has won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Technical Achievement.

Ent.'s home video, digital distribution, interactive entertainment/videogames, direct-to-DVD production, technical operations and anti-piracy businesses in order to maximize current and next-generation distribution scenarios. WBHEG is responsible for the global distribution of content through DVD, electronic sell-through and transactional VOD and delivery of theatrical content to wireless and online channels, and is also a significant worldwide publisher for both internal and third party videogame titles.
