Chorion Takes Noddy on an International Adventure

Press Release from Chorion

London/New York, 27 April 2009: In Noddy's 60th anniversary year, leading family entertainment producer and distributor Chorion is further expanding the reach of the family favourite, securing a number of international sales across northern and southern Europe for its brand new series NODDY IN TOYLAND and also its earlier show MAKE WAY FOR NODDY.

RTP Portugal, TV2 Norway and MTV Oy in Finland have all picked up the latest series NODDY IN TOYLAND (52 x 11') which has already been pre-bought by Five in the UK and by France 5.

MTV Oy Finland has also acquired MAKE WAY FOR NODDY, along with Spanish broadcaster TVE which has taken the free TV rights to all 100x10' episodes of the show for broadcast on La 2 and Clan TV. The property is well placed following great success in neighbouring countries France and Portugal where it is a leading children's property. Master toy, home entertainment and publishing are already in place in the territory and licensing agent Biplano have been overwhelmed by interest from potential partners.

Geraint Marsh, SVP Television Sales at Chorion says: "Noddy is an evergreen property and the character's ongoing appeal is highlighted by these new deals for the latest adventures and also the previous series. We are thrilled to be taking Noddy into new territories."

Based on the book by Enid Blyton which has continuously been in print since 1949, NODDY IN TOYLAND debuted on Five's preschool brand Milkshake! on April 20 and will air on France 5's les Zouzous in the summer.

The new series of NODDY IN TOYLAND is a continuation of his earlier adventure in MAKE WAY FOR NODDY, highlighting the evergreen nature of this much-loved property. The new 52 x 11-minute CGI series is being animated by the Academy Award nominated company Brown Bag Films with Ian Carney as head writer.

In his latest show, Noddy is joined by an ensemble cast including Tessie Bear, Bumpy Dog and new friend Whiz the Robot in a series of adventures which will focus on play and community.
