Charlex Signs Isidore as VP/Exec Producer

Charlex, the New York-based 3D, animation and effects studio for film and television, has named Adam Isidore as vp/exec producer. He moves from BBDO New York where he held the same title. At BBDO, Isidore recently served as exec producer in charge of production for the Cingular Wireless account. In addition to producing several dozen Cingular spots, he also wrote a spot for the New York launch called SUBWAY, which won an Addy Award.

"Charlex has been growing in many ways over the last several years. Bringing in Adam Isidore as our exec producer is another important step in that direction," said Charlex founder/ and executive creative director Alex Weil. "As a creative director it's important to have an executive producer who understands me. Adam is that guy. I greatly value his judgment in artistic matters as well as matters of strategy and day to day goings-on. We hit if off the very first time we worked together and we've been hitting it off ever since. I believe that having Adam here represents a new and exciting chapter in our company's history."

At BBDO Isidore produced such spots as QUOTES and CRY BABY for AOL, FACTORY and KONISHSKI for Visa, SPACESHIP for Mountain Dew, KISS for Sierra Mist, a short film for the Orange Bowl for FedEx and numerous spots for Office Depot, among others. Prior to BBDO, Isidore was a senior producer at Young & Rubicam for three-and-a-half years.

"Some of the best spots I produced for BBDO I did at Charlex with Alex and the gang so coming to work here was an easy sell," said Isidore. "Alex reinvents Charlex constantly and I think that's smart. In just three years, he's created one of the best 3D departments around. I love the work ethic here, the energy here, and the collaborative spirit. I benefited from it as a client and I'm excited to be a part of it as Charlex's executive producer."

Isidore began working in the industry 18 years ago as an editor. In l989, he opened Red Barn Films, a production company through which he directed documentaries, short films and commercials. He produced and directed a feature-length documentary called GIVE A DAMN AGAIN, which won numerous festival awards and was broadcast on the Sundance Channel. It is about what became of 16 people from Harlem who, as children in l968, were featured in a public service commercial in which they were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. His father, Tony Isidore, helped create the original commercials.
