Warner Bros. Picks Up Red Star Comic

Warner Bros. is in talks to pick up the right to comic THE RED STAR from Universal in turnaround, reports Heat Vision. Original Films' Neal Moritz and Kickstart Prods.' Jason Netter would produce.

Created by Christian Gossett, the alternative history comic is set in a futuristic USSR where technology and magic have melded. A soldier and his wife get involved in a fight to take down a former dictator.

At Universal, Matthew Sand was working on a script for director Timur Bekmambetov. Mark Platt would have produced.

In an interesting note, Netter produced Bekmambetov's WANTED.
