The rights for the TERMINATOR franchise may soon be on the auction block as rights-holder Halcyon Holdings vies to become solvent again, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Halcyon Holdings, which is run by Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, purchased the franchise rights for $25 million in 2007 to produce TERMINATOR SALVATION. The company recently filed for bankruptcy and the sale of the franchise rights could steer the company back from the brink.

Before this summer's blockbuster flailed at U.S. box offices there was talk of another installment, but that appears to be on hold indefinitely now. The TERMINATOR franchise rights have changed hands many times over 25 years since the original.
