Shane Black (KISS KISS BANG BANG) has pitched his take on IRON MAN 3 to Marvel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The LETHAL WEAPON writer is looking to direct the threequel, but it is assumed that he would write as well. If he gets the job, it would reunite him with his BANG BANG star Robert Downey Jr. Marvel, via its owner Disney, will release the film on May 3, 2013.

Black is currently working on scripts for Warner Bros.'s adaptation of manga DEATH NOTE and Sony's DOC SAVAGE adaptation.
