Paramount Pictures has picked up the rights to DC Comics' THE MIGHTY, reports Deadline.com. You might be thinking it's unusual for a DC title to not be set up at Warner Bros., but this is an incident where creators Keith Champagne and Peter Tomasi own the rights and shopped it around town themselves. The comic follows a cop who uncovers a devious plot by Alpha-One, the world's most powerful superhero. Making matters worse is that Alpha-One saved the cop's life when he was a child.

Disruption Ent.'s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter and Benderspink's JC Spink are the producers. Peter Snejberg was the artist on the MIGHTY comic.
