Justin Lin has left the upcoming installment THE TERMINATOR to focus on FAST AND FURIOUS 6, reports Deadline.com. However, Lin has said that he would be eager to return to the project if it hasn't gotten under way by the time he is done with his other commitment.

Megan Ellison's Annapurna Films purchased the franchise for $20 million. Currently Arnold Schwarzenegger is attached to star, but not screenwriter has been hired to continue the story. Annapurna also does not have a studio involved as well. Another wrinkle to the franchise is that James Cameron regains the rights to the franchise in 2018 due to the assigned rights clause in the copyright law that returns material to creators after 35 years.
