Mark Osbourne (KUNG FU PANDA) has signed on to direct a French-produced 3-D adaptation of THE LITTLE PRINCE, reports Variety. Aton Soumache (RENAISSANCE) and Dimitri Rassam (THE CHILDREN OF TIMPELBACH) are producing the 45 million Euro pic. Based on Antoine de Saint-Exupery's 1943 novella, the story follows a pilot who crashes in the Sahara desert and meets a young prince who is from an asteroid in space. The film will feature an international voice cast. Production will begin in 2012 and should be finished by 2014.
