Press Release from House of Curves

The Inbetweeners Movie was the #1 film on the UK box office charts for four consecutive weeks to become the third highest-grossing film of 2011 to date, behind The King’s Speech and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part II. A follow up to the hit Channel 4 series, the film shows what happens when four lads go on holiday with no parents, no teachers, no money and little chance with the ladies.

VFX studio The House of Curves created the VFX shots for the film including digital crotch replacement for the bashful teen actors. The title sequence that opens the movie is an impossibly slick camera move starting high in the clouds overlooking suburbia, sweeping through a neighbourhood, travelling in through a window and up to a naughty teenager prepping for the wank of the century. Empire Magazine comments "it’s American Pie directed by David Fincher".

VFX Supervisor Andrew Daffy comments "The entire production was bizaare, as a studio we're quite used to working on X rated material, but the things we were painting out could have had us locked away in some countries. Creating an opening shot that could be in a Harry Potter flick, but shot in broad daylight on a fraction of the budget was hugely rewarding. I can't wait until I can start showing some of the funny previsualisations we had to make along the way. Our most awkward moment was supervising the shoot in which we needed to shoot a 'cock double' for the main actor. Asking a naked man stood by a busy pool to do small pelvic thrusts every few seconds really made me feel liked I'd reached the big time."

The Inbetweeners Movie will be released in Australia and the US at the end of November.
