HitFix has broken the news that HARRY POTTER director David Yates and writer Steve Kloves are working with Warner Bros. to adapt a multi-film adaptation of Stephen King’s THE STAND. Vertigo Pictures will produce.

The epic tale follows the survivors of a super flu that wiped most of humanity off Earth. Two camps on the side of good and evil are pitted against each other. The story was previously made into a TV miniseries by director Mick Garris.
