In its continuing campaign to pick up every box office champ, FX has acquired the basic cable rights to GREEN LANTERN, as well as MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS, reports The Hollywood Reporter. GREEN LANTERN was the U.S. box office champ this past weekend, bringing in $53.2 million. PENGUINS finished third with $18.4 million.

Recent box office #1s acquired by FX include Paramount's SUPER 8, Fox's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, Disney's TRON: LEGACY, Sony's THE GREEN HORNET, Warner Bros.' THE HANGOVER PART II and Paramount's RANGO.
