FOX is in talks to produce the limited summer series PYRATES, reports Deadline.com. Barry Schindel, a longtime producer on LAW & ORDER and NUMB3RS, created the concept. Stephen Hopkins (24) will direct the pilot. Ensemble Entertainment and Ridley and Tony Scott's Scott Free Prods. are studios behind the project.

Based on true life, the story follows the pirates that captured the Spanish silver fleet in 1628.
