Rocket Pictures heads Sir Elton John and David Furnish are developing a musical fantasy bio-pic about John's life called ROCKETMAN, reports Deadline.com. Lee Hall (BILLY ELLIOT) will pen the script. Furnish is the producer alongside Rocket Pictures’ Steve Hamilton Shaw. John will exec produce.

UTA is shopping the project to potential directors and studio partners.

Rocket Pictures' first feature was the animated film GNOMEO & JULIET. It is currently working on the live-action/animation hybrid WILL GALLOWS AND THE SNAKE BELLIED TROLL, which Kelly Asbury (SHREK 2) is writing and directing.
