David Slade, the director of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, is returning to vampires again. He is in negotiations to take the helm of THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER, reports Heat Vision. Penned by Bragi Schut, the story follows the Demeter vessel as it sails from Transylvania to London with Dracula as its cargo.

Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace have already signed onto the project. Phoenix Pictures is still looking for a male lead. Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and Bradley Fischer are the producers.

Over the past decade of development, the film has attracted the likes of Robert Schwentke, Marcus Nispel and Stefan Ruzowitzky as possible directors.
