DreamWorks Animation has hired MEGAMIND writers Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons to pen a PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR feature, writes The Hollywood Reporter. The studio has not set a director on the project yet.

Skipper, Kowalski, Private and Rico first were spun off from MADAGASCAR as a short film titled THE MADAGASCAR PENGUINS IN A CHRISTMAS CAPER. Then they received their own Nickelodeon TV series, which ranks as the second highest rated show for kids 2-11 only behind SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS.
