DreamWorks Animation to Adapt Alma Short

DreamWorks Animation is in talks with Rodrigo Blaas to adapt his animated short ALMA in a feature, reports Heat Vision. Blaas would write and direct. Guillermo del Toro would exec produce.

The story follows a young girl who enters a mysterious toyshop that has the evil goal of changing children into toys.

Additionally, Blaas has signed on to co-direct del Toro's animated project TROLLHUNTERS with the PAN'S LABYRINTH filmmaker.

Blaas's animation credits include ICE AGE, FINDING NEMO, THE INCREDIBLES, CARS, RATATOUILLE, WALL*E and UP.
