Universal Pictures has tapped Rawson Thurber (DODGEBALL) to pen a new draft of its adaptation of the award-winning Dark Horse comic THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, reports Deadline.com. Mark Bomback (UNSTOPPABLE) wrote the first draft.

Created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, the comic centers on an adopted family of dysfunctional superpowered children.

Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Scott Stuber are the producers. Way and Dark Horse's Keith Goldberg are exec producing.
