Disney Interactive Studios has pulled the plug on the videogame PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ARMADA OF THE DAMNED, reports Variety. Propaganda Games had been developing the project. As a result, Propaganda will be laying off as many as 100 workers.

The game was unveiled in showy fashion at E3 in June. But since then James Pitaro and John Pleasants were brought in to focus the division on low-cost, causal online games like FARMVILLE. ARMADA OF THE DAMNED was a highly expensive project that would have been set before the story of the first film. The franchise has already produced the games PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN ONLINE and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL.
