Universal Pictures has tapped Hossein Amini (47 RONIN) to rewrite SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, reports Deadline.com. Evan Spiliotopoulos penned the previous version of the screenplay.

Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which will star Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth.

Universal has been battling it out with Relativity Media over which studio will get their SNOW WHITE film in theaters first. Universal set its release for June 1, 2012 and then Relativity countered by placing its untitled SNOW WHITE film on March 16. Relativity's film is being helmed by Tarsem Singh and stars Julia Roberts, Lily Collins and Armie Hammer.
