Press Release from Nickelodeon

Burbank, Calif. – Sept. 9, 2010 – Nickelodeon is giving kids two brand-new reasons to tune in to Saturday mornings with the back-to-back premieres of T.U.F.F. Puppy, a 2D animated comedy from Nicktoon hit-maker Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents), and Planet Sheen, a new CG-animated comedy series from the creative minds of Steve Oedekerk and Keith Alcorn, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (all times ET/PT) on Saturday, Oct. 2.  These two new exciting shows bring even more original comedy and adventure to Nick's already top-rated Saturday morning line-up that features SpongeBob SquarePants, The Penguins of Madagascar and Fanboy and Chum Chum.

“We are happy to bring two all-new animated series to Nickelodeon's Saturday morning slate of hit Nicktoons,” said Brown Johnson, President, Animation, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. “In T.U.F.F. Puppy, the super-talented Butch Hartman spoofs the spy genre with the one two punch of a bumbling hero and moronic bad guys. In Planet Sheen, Steve Oedekerk and Keith Alcorn send everyone's favorite goofball, Sheen Estevez, to outer space.”

The action-packed T.U.F.F. Puppy (11-11:30 a.m.) centers around Dudley Puppy (voiced by iCarly’s Jerry Trainor), a gung-ho, dim-witted dog who finds himself accidentally thrust into the role of secret agent when he’s recruited by the super-secret, crime-fighting organization, T.U.F.F. (Turbo Undercover Fighting Force).  He partners with Kitty Katswell, a feline superspy who is an amazing kung-fu and weapons expert.  Naturally, they don’t get along, but together they protect their hometown of Petropolis and the rest of the world against the evil animal organization, D.O.O.M. (Diabolical Order of Mayhem).

Planet Sheen (11:30–12:00 p.m.) follows the intergalactic adventures of Sheen Guevera Estevez, the hyperactive kid from Nick’s hit TV series The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, at (all times ET/PT).  Planet Sheen finds Sheen stranded in outer space after he accidentally "borrows" a rocket and crash lands on the planet Zeenu, a world of limited technology that is inhabited by not-too-bright creatures and ruled by an Emperor who becomes fascinated with Sheen.  Following their premieres, T.U.F.F. Puppy will air regularly on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and Planet Sheen at 11:30 a.m.

In addition to iCarly’s Trainor as Dudley, T.U.F.F. Puppy includes a cast that features Grey DeLisle (The Fairly OddParents) as Kitty Katswell, Jeff Bennett (The Penguins of Madagascar) as Keswick, Daran Norris (The Fairly OddParents) as Chief and Matthew Taylor (Open Season) as Snaptrap.  The series was created and is executive produced by Butch Hartman, creator of the Emmy Award-winning The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom.

In the first half of the T.U.F.F. Puppy premiere, “Purr-fect Partner,” Dudley Puppy is introduced to the super-secret undercover organization Turbo Undercover Fighting Force (T.U.F.F.) and his reluctant new partner, Kitty Katswell.  On their latest adventure, the heroic super agents team up to stop Snaptrap, D.O.O.M.’s ill-mannered supreme leader, from enslaving all of the rats in Petropolis.  Together, Dudley and Kitty make for quite an imposing crime-fighting duo.  In the second half of the premiere, “Doom-mates,” Kitty Katswell’s life is in danger and it’s up to Dudley Puppy to save his crime-fighting sidekick from the villainous Chameleon.

Planet Sheen follows Sheen Estevez as he deals with planet Zeenu’s bizarre customs and strange-looking creatures, including a jealous villain, Dorkus; a 10-foot tall, two-faced princess who has a crush on him; and Mr. Nesmith, a brainy talking chimp from the 60’s space program, who joins Sheen in his ultimate quest to return home.  In every episode, Sheen lives the dream of being an out-of-this-world warrior making it his mission to teach the planet the superior ways of Earth and bring them into the 21st century – though possessing no such skills to do so.
