Cartoon Network Serves Up Transformers & Movies Thanksgiving Day

For the big Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the U.S., Cartoon Network will be serving up several special telecasts on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 2004, including a TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON marathon and three back-to-back animated motion picture features.

The day begins with a six-hour marathon of the high-octane action-adventure series, TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The newest installment of the legendary story matching the Autobots versus the Decepticons, Unicron sets his sights on stealing Earth's Energon the one energy source that will bring him back to power. But Optimus Prime intends to stop this evil plot before Unicron can reactivate. Optimus Prime utilizes the "Spark of Combination" to mobilize his small Autobot force to create larger, more powerful robots. Now the Autobot forces in their new Powerlinx combinations must stop the Decepticons in their quest to revive Unicron.

Three back-to-back animated features follow this:

THE IRON GIANT (3:00-5:00 pm) this animated feature by Brad Bird and Warner Bros. Animation tells the tale of Hogarth Hughes, a young boy who lives in a small town in Maine during the Cold War. When a 50-foot robot comes crashing into this sleepy town, Hogarth catches up with him and quickly develops a friendship with the misunderstood Iron Giant. News of the robot's existence gets out, sparking government suspicion. Hogarth must try his best to hide the massive robot from his mom, the local scrap-yard beatnik and a dubious government agent.

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (5:00-7:00 pm) DreamWorks animated feature the story of Moses and his passage from slave to prince. Raised as the son of a pharaoh alongside his brother, Rameses, Moses' real heritage is kept secret. But when Moses discovers that he was actually born a Hebrew slave, he must face his destiny as the leader of his people. This new truth forever separates the two brothers in faith, heritage and destiny. Brothers soon become enemies as Rameses refuses to let the Hebrews go.

SCOOBY-DOO AND THE LOCH NESS MONSTER (7:00-9:00 pm) Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne, Fred and Velma travel to Scotland to co-host the famous Highland games, where they get more than fun when they discover the Loch Ness Monster. Before the games begin, the gang must unravel the secret behind the fabled monster, who is angry that they're holding the games on her sacred nesting ground. This telemovie was produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
