Cartoon Network Goes Live with David Duchovny

Cartoon Network has greenlit a pilot presentation for a new live-action project from exec producers David Duchovny, Matt Dearborn and Robert Mora. Written by Dearborn, the untitled show follows a junior high student, whose family is filled with newsmen, who turns the audio-visual club into a serious citywide news program.

Duchovny is best known for his starring role on THE X-FILES. He now stars in and exec produces CALIFORNICATION on Showtime. Dearborn is the creator of Disney's live-action series EVEN STEVEN, which starred TRANSFORMERS star Shia LaBeouf. Mora produced Disney Channel's PHIL OF THE FUTURE and Nickelodeon's THE SECRET LIFE OF ALEX MACK.

CN branched out into live-action in December 2006 with the live-action/animated movie RE-ANIMATED. With the success of that project, the cable net spun off the movie into the series OUT OF JIMMY'S HEAD, which debuted last Friday. Cartoon Network has also aired the reality series PROPS, where kids are given the opportunity to meet their famous heroes.
