Cartoon Net's Foster's to Conclude Series Run on Sunday, May 3

Press Release from Cartoon Network

FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, one of Cartoon Network's most beloved original series, will conclude with a series finale on Sunday, May 3. Tune-in beginning at 1 p.m. (ET, PT) for seven favorite episodes and five brand-new episodes, ending with the series finale, "Goodbye to Bloo," at 6:30 p.m. (ET, PT). In the world of FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, once a kid dreams up a new companion, it becomes real -- and visible to everyone else. And while Imaginary Friends are seen on the streets every day, it doesn't mean that everyone loves them.

Sometimes kids outgrow their Imaginary Friends. Sometimes a kid moves and becomes separated from his pal. Some Imaginary Friends weren't very good ideas to begin with. And every once in a while, a parent will force a kid to give up his Imaginary Friend before he's ready to do so. These are some of the reasons why Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends exists. A massive Victorian mansion, it serves as a haven for Imaginary Friends who no longer live with the kid who created them.

The final new episodes are listed below:

-- 4:30 p.m.: "The Bloo Superdude & The Great Creator of Everything's Awesome Ceremony of Fun That He's Not Invited To" -- Bloo imagines he is engaged in another hair-raising adventure as the Bloo Superdude, but in reality, he is just deliriously sick and trying to attend Mac's birthday party.

-- 5:00 p.m.: "Bad Dare Day" -- What starts as an innocent dare turns into a house-wide competition that pits the friends against each other in a bid to win the title of Dare Champion!

-- 5:30 p.m.: "Read 'Em and Weep" -- Several recently adopted Imaginary Friends start to paint a less-than-rosy picture of life outside the house through a series of letters sent to Foster's.

-- 6:00 p.m.: "Fools And Regulations" -- Bloo and the Friends are forced to choose between staying upstairs and staying outside while Frankie and Mr. Herriman host an important party at Foster's.

-- 6:30 p.m.: "Goodbye to Bloo" -- Bloo and the Friends think Mac is moving away forever, so they set out to make his last day at Foster's the greatest he's ever had.

The beloved series, created by renowned animator Craig McCracken (THE POWERPUFF GIRLS), premiered on Aug. 13, 2004. Since then, 78 half-hour episodes and three feature-length specials have been produced depicting all sorts of stories about the remarkable inhabitants of this home created for abandoned imaginary friends of children who've outgrown them.

To date, the show has received multiple industry awards and nominations for its animation and character creations, including Primetime Emmy Awards (5) and additional nominations (3); ASIFA Annie Awards (5) and additional nominations (12), Cartoons on the Bay Pucinella Awards (Best Series, Character of the Year); the Ottawa Int'l Animation Festival "Best in Television Animation for Children" Award; and a TCA Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Children's Programming.

Last Thanksgiving, the Foster's float in the annual Macy's Parade included a surprise visit from pop-singer Rick Astley who "Rick-rolled" the parade with his 1987 hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up."
