Cartoon Net, WB Ani Brings Super Animated Lineup To Comic-Con

Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation will be fully represented at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego from July 27-29, 2007. The big event is the world premiere of the highly anticipated direct-to-video animated feature SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY on Friday evening.

12:30-1:30 pm Cartoon Network: ED, EDD & EDDY: TRUE TALES FROM THE CUL-DE-SAC -- Danny Antonucci, the creator of the show, will be discussing the series with Samuel Vincent (voice of Edd), Peter Kelamis (voice of Rolf), Janyse Jaud (voice of Sarah, Lee Kanker), Scott "Diggs" Underwood (storyboard director) and "Big Jim" Miller (storyboard director). 2:45-3:45 pmHanna Barbera Retrospective -- Take a look back at the lives and times of two of the greatest characters in the history of animation, Bill Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Former colleagues and friends examine the toon titans' nearly 70 years of creating some of the world's most beloved animated characters. Animation author/historian Tom Sito moderates a panel that includes longtime Hanna-Barbera director Andrea Romano, the renowned Gary Owens (Space Ghost), HANNA-BARBERA CARTOONS author Michael Mallory, plus Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone, the producer-director team of the upcoming TOM AND JERRY: A NUTCRACKER TALE, Joe Barbera's final animated project. 8:30-10:30 pmSUPERMAN DOOMSDAY -- Superman is dead--or is he? All will be revealed at Comic-Con's world premiere of DC Comics, Warner Bros. Home Video and Warner Bros. Animation's SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY. It's the highly anticipated first DC Universe made-for-DVD release presented by Warner Premiere and produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Inspired by the best-selling graphic novel of all time, SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY is an epic tale of heroism and tragedy, sacrifice and redemption. The film is rated PG-13 for action violence. The voice cast is led by Adam Baldwin (SERENITY, CHUCK) as Superman, Anne Heche (MEN IN TREES) as Lois Lane, and James Marsters (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) as Lex Luthor. DC Comics' Gregory Novek will moderate the post-premiere panel that includes exec producer/director/writer Bruce Timm (JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED, BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES), directors Brandon Vietti (LEGION OF SUPER HEROES) and Lauren Montgomery (LEGION OF SUPER HEROES), writer Duane Capizzi (THE BATMAN) and members of the voice cast. 12:45-1:45 pmSony Pictures Television/Kids' WB: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN -- Get an early look at the art direction and storylines within the renowned webslinger's newest animated adventures in THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, a Culver Ent. production coming to Kids' WB! on The CW in early 2008. Michael Vogel from Sony Pictures Television Animation will moderate a panel headed by supervising producer Greg Weisman (GARGOYLES), producer/supervising director Victor Cook (HELLBOY: BLOOD AND IRON), character designer Sean "Cheeks" Galloway (HELLBOY animated films), Marvel svp of creative development -- animation Craig Kyle, and the newest voice of SPIDER-MAN, Josh Keaton (THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS). 1:30-2:30 pmStar Wars Day: ROBOT CHICKEN Sets and Toys -- As production designer for the ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS SPECIAL, Jed Hathaway researched and designed each miniature set with exact replication and utmost detail. In this discussion, Hathaway will explain the basics of designing sets, props and vehicles for stop-motion animation. An in-depth behind the scenes video will show how his team brought the STAR WARS universe to life and show various comparisons between the special and the original STAR WARS Saga. There will be a 20-minute presentation video followed by a Q&A session. Room 1AB

4:15-5:45 pmWarner Bros. Animation: THE BATMAN/LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES -- This 90-minute panel is split between two Warner Bros. Animation standouts: THE BATMAN and LEGION OF SUPER HEROES. The Caped Crusader crew just picked up its fourth Emmy Award heading into a new season, which includes guest appearances from some Justice League pals. Supervising producer Alan Burnett (THE BATMAN), producer/director Michael Goguen (BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES), renowned voice director Andrea Romano and the voice of Batman himself, Rino Romano, will discuss the upcoming surprises. LOSH enters its second season as the group adds new members and a new ally from across the space-time continuum -- just in time to face a daunting new villain. Producer James Tucker (JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED), director Brandon Vietti (SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY) and story editor/writer Michael Jelenic (THE BATMAN) will be joined on the panel by cast members Yuri Lowenthal (Superman on LOSH), Phil Morris (SEINFELD, SMALLVILLE) and Alex Polinsky (CHARLES IN CHARGE). Today's panel includes Neil Ross (GI JOE), Wally Wingert (INVADER ZIM), Kathy Garver (SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS), Will Ryan (Disney voice artist), Chris Edgerly (HARVEY BIRDMAN) and Joe Alaskey (Duck DODGERS).
