Cartoon Art Museum Presents Winter Cartooning Classes

Celebrate the end of the year with fun classes that will have adults and kids teaming up to create their own cartoons at the Cartoon Art Museum!

Celebrate the end of the year with fun classes that will have adults and kids teaming up to create their own cartoons at the Cartoon Art Museum! These classes will take place over the winter holiday break on December 27, 2012 and January 3, 2013, and additional kids’ classes will be held on December 28, 2012 and January 4, 2013.  The cost of materials and Cartoon Art Museum admission is included in the tuition fee.

Tuition for these classes can be paid through Guestlist.  Space is limited, and advance reservations are recommended:

Thursday Dec 27th, 2012 - Parent/Child Class: Crazy and Cute Critters

Ages: Parents/Guardians and Children (7 to 12 years old) recommended Time: 11am – 1pm

Cost: $10 per person (all children must be accompanied by an adult, ideally no more than two children per parent)

About: Adults and Kids team up to create their own Critters, Creatures and Monsters—whether they be scary, cute or something else. This class will teach basic cartooning skills mixed with lots of fun creativity challenges.  Friday Dec 28th – Cartooning Lab: Drawing Mystic Heroes from Fantastic lands Ages: 8 to 14 Time: 11am to 1pm Cost: $15 per student About: Students will learn to draw heroic ladies and gents with inspiration from cultures around the world. Materials provided. Featured skills: figure drawing, thumbnails, storytelling, costuming. 

Thursday Jan 3, 2013 - Parent/Child Class: Superheroes and Supervillains

Ages: Parents/Guardians and Children (7 to 12 years old) recommended Time: 11am - 1pm Cost: $10 per person (all children must be accompanied by an adult, ideally no more than two children per parent) About: In this Adult/Kid combo class we will create our own Hero and Villain characters while learning some of the basics of cartooning.

Friday Jan 4, 2013 - Cartooning Lab: Heroes and villains from the Supernatural Realm.

Ages: 8 to 14 Time: 11am to 1pm Cost: $15 per student About: Students learn to draw the heroic and villainous residents of the dark and mysterious realms of the supernatural. Vampires! Zombies! Sorcerers! And MORE! Materials provided. Featured skills: figure drawing, thumbnails, storytelling, costuming.  All classes are taught by longtime CAM instructor Brian Kolm of Atomic Bear Press
