The Cartoon Animation Institute (CAI) is opening in Los Angeles with a grand opening event on Aug. 18, 2006 from 7:00 pm to midnight, to introduce the school, its curriculum and mission objectives. Peter Shin, director on THE FAMILY GUY is ceo of CAI.
CAI is employing an interdisciplinary faculty of academics, researchers, and professionals, focusing on key areas of education, training and media development. The primary objective of the institute will be to provide an excellent and comprehensive education to prepare students for careers in animation, visual effects and digital media.
CAIs primary location is at 3440 8th Street in Los Angeles. The faculty already includes many working pros from FAMILY GUY vets Kara Vallow, Young Lee, Mike Elias, Andy Tauke, Shannon Smith, Peter Michels and John Holmquist.
