Cartoombria 2000 Honors Computer And Web Animation

ANIMutATIONS, the 6th Cartoombria International Animation Festival, will happen in Perugia, Italy, November 23-25, 2000. The artistic committee of the festival has put together a number of computer animation, Web animation and games-related retrospectives, exhibits, workshops, screenings, premieres and artist tributes. The festival will open with the presentation of "Life From Pluto," a video installation by artist and animator Saul Saguatti, and a videoconference with the European Gathering of Young Digital Creation (youngcreation.net). This event, which will take place November 22-24, 2000 in Valenciennes, France, is organised by SupInfoCom, a top computer animation school in France, which will be the guest school at Cartoombria 2000. Panel speakers include: Mario Cavalli, founder and project development director of Aka Pizazz Ltd. (UK), who will talk about animation, advertising and the Internet; Christian Davin, Chairman of Alphanim (France), who will present their new interactive entertainment site, yafoule.com; and Olivier Janin, strategic director of cHmAn (France), who will unveil the Italian version of Banja.com, an online game in interactive 3D animation.
