Los Angeles, CA – Carlos Penny has joined Oishii Creative as Head of Business Development. He comes to the creative agency with more than a decade of business development experience, including positions at production companies SD MEDIA and FILTER. Penny's hiring signals Oishii Creative's continued evolution, embracing strategic partnerships with a focus on multidisciplinary talent and investing in proprietary technology, mobile video and multi-channel networks.

Penny joins Oishii with years of experience helping companies reach their business goals. His unlikely foray into the creative world began in the field of healthcare. Working as a healthcare staff manager and recruiter, Penny oversaw more than 100 resident and travel nurses, while also handling contract negotiations and implementing new marketing and sales strategies. He soon realized that his strengths -- bringing people together, researching market trends, developing new business models, and implementing strategies – translated well to the creative industry, where he transitioned to business development for agencies specializing in entertainment production and branding.
Always eager to take on a new challenge, Penny says Oishii’s passion for excellence is part of what drew him to the agency.

Born in Lima, Peru and raised in Connecticut, Penny graduated with a B.A. in Corporate Communications with a focus on Media Studies from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. When he's not surfing or cooking sliders on his rooftop deck in Venice Beach, you can find him supporting the local community, which he's proud to call home. Penny also volunteers with the Surfrider Foundation and is working towards launching his own non-profit, Surfunite.
