Canada Hockey Icon Bob Cole Cast in Studio B Short

One of Canadas most beloved sports personalities, Bob Cole, was in Studio B Prods. Inc. recently doing voice-over work for a new animated four-minute short the Vancouver studio is producing called, CLANCY WITH THE PUCK. Cole has been working on Canadas longest running hockey telecast since 1969, HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, and is known and loved by millions.

The CLANCY WITH THE PUCK story, created by Chris Mizzoni will be published by Raincoast Books, one of Canadas leading book publishers and distributors, as an illustrated childrens book in fall 2007 across North America in partnership with Studio B.

Studio B partner Blair Peters said he was thrilled to have Cole in his studio. His voice is synonymous with hockey in Canada and he has one of the most distinguishable voices in broadcasting -- he was our first and only choice for this role, said Peters. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to work with him.

Studio B, which recently won a prestigious British Academy Childrens Film and Television Award for THE AMAZING ADRENALINI BROTHERS! and the 2006 Shaw Rocket Award for BEING IAN, has a history of working with celebrities. Trevor Linden of the Vancouver Canucks, the punk-rock band GOB, and Global Televisions news anchor Tony Parsons all appeared on BEING IAN.

Cole was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996, receiving the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for excellence in hockey broadcasting. He has been with CBCs HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA since 1969, and his play-by-play is heard by millions of hockey fans each Saturday.
