The Rushes Soho Shorts Festival has extended its deadline to May 19, 2004. The annual fest has become a highlight of London's film calendar. This year's event features free screenings of short-listed films will run in bars, cafés and cinemas throughout Soho. Once again, the Curzon Soho will host the delegate center, (sponsored by Fentimans Drinks), in addition to providing the venue for the ever-popular short film seminar, which is run in conjunction with the NPA.

Rushes Soho Shorts Festival's unique reputation as a non-profit making event, focused entirely on showcasing new talent, is enhanced each year. As a testament to this, a host of show-business luminaries came along to support the cause and present prizes at the 2003 awards night. However, the most important aspect of the festival is the impact that it has on the filmmakers who enter. In past years, winning directors have been snapped up by prestigious production companies immediately after their triumph and many films have gone on to achieve great success on the international festival circuit.
