* Friday, January 25 – Sunday, January 27, 2002. Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A.

Early Deadline: June 1, 2001

Late Deadline: October 1, 2001

The Moondance International Film Festival is dedicated to preserving the work of female screenwriters, playwrights, short-story writers and independent filmmakers. Moondance provides a forum in which women can have the opportunity for their work to be viewed in front of the international film community. The festival promotes, encourages, educates and rewards non-violent conflict resolution in the arts & film. Their Columbine Awards are given to the film-makers &/or writers who best depict alternatives to violence as a method of dealing with conflicts, whether personal, local, national or international, and/or show why violence as a solution to conflict is ultimately counter-productive and inhumane. Though the festival has been strictly a women’s competition, this year, for the first time, both men and women writers and filmmakers are eligible to enter the special side-bar competition, The Seahorse Contest. In addition, men will be eligible to receive Columbine Awards. For more information contact the festival at: Email: moondanceff@aol.com or Web: www.moondancefilmfestival.com.
