China International Cartoon & Animation Festival 2009

Sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of PRC and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, organized by Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Radio and Television and Zhejiang Radio and Television Group, the 5th China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) will be held in Hangzhou from April 25 to May 3, 2009.

The 2009 Monkey-King Award is jointly supported by governments, cartoon and animation circle and academia, is the most authoritative and influential competition in cartoon and animation circle in China. Taking peace, harmony, development and promotion as the keynote, advocating the concept of high quality, high character and high level, the Monkey-King Award has arranged various awards in the fields of animated films and caricatures and other fields concerning artistic creation. It actively encourages original works and seeks for, by exchange and evaluation of carton and animation works home and abroad, excellent animated works and talents in cartoon and animation in China.

Film submissions for the award are due February 24.

The 2009 Monkey-King Award insists on the specialized and internationalized evaluation standard, based on domestic cartoon and animation works, scanning widely in the world. The annual grand competition shall determine various awards and confer winner the Monkey-King Award, which symbolizes the top honor in cartoon and animation circle in China.
