CAKE Entertainment Launches Two New Prodcos

With their first bold move since orchestrating an MBO in early July, CAKE Entertainment principals Edward Galton and Tom van Waveren, are launching two TV companies that each plan to raise £5 million of investment under the UK Government backed Enterprise Investment Scheme.

It is anticipated that the two companies will help produce content specific to the children’s sector. They will work with producers, taking the burden of structuring complex budgets off their shoulders and therefore leaving them free to create and develop.

Having recently put together their third project that was backed with EIS investment in this manner, Galton and Van Waveren feel confident this approach will suit the projects they attach themselves to.

The planned EIS investment is intended to enable the production of several big budget children’s TV productions.  It is anticipated that investors will fund the two production companies, which in turn will then look to secure the majority of the budget of their shows against domestic and international broadcaster license fees, pre-sales, soft money  and especially the recently  introduced UK tax credit for animation.  CAKE Entertainment will provide executive producer services and be the exclusive international distribution company of the finished product through CAKE’s distribution arm.

CAKE Entertainment are actively looking for “high end” children’s projects, both animated and live action,  to which they might provide help with financial structuring.
