Córdoba 2001 Independent Animation Celebration Call For Entries

On May 17 and 18, 2001, the city of Córdoba, Argentina will host the Córdoba 2001 Independent Animation Celebration, a gathering of film and animation artists, academics, students and the general public interested in the technique and aesthetics of animation. The aims of the celebration are to draw a panorama of current Argentine animation; ponder animation production and aesthetics in Argentina (both commercial and independent); and diffuse new production and distribution techniques and proceedings. The Celebration includes the Córdoba 2001 International Independent Animation Fest, open to animated works where the filmmakers´ expressive intention stands in front of current trends and marketing requirements. The Festival is specially interested in screening Latin American animation and film, and TV or video school animation productions. There are two categories: film or video animation and Web animation. The Celebration includes a seminar on Aspects of Independent Animation, conducted by: Pablo Rodríguez Jáuregui, internationally awarded independent animator; Javier Mrad, graphic designer, University of Buenos Aires professor and BDA awarded director of Medialuna Productions, (www.medialunaweb.com); Rodolfo Sáenz Valiente, internationally awarded independent animator and University of Buenos Aires professor; and Nora Araujo, University of Buenos Aires professor and producer of the Buenos Aires Primavera Animada Film and Video Animation Festival.
