Valentine's Day Earns Big on Opening Weekend

VALENTINE'S DAY came out on top by a long shot over the weekend, Feb. 12-14, earning $56.4 million for Warner Bros. THE WOLFMAN came in second with $31.8 million for Universal.

PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF earned $31.4 million and the #3 spot for Fox. AVATAR dropped down to #4 with $23.5 million for Fox and DEAR JOHN came in the #5 spot with $16 million.

THE TOOTH FAIRY grabbed the #6 spot and $6 million for Fox. FROM PARIS WITH LOVE brought in $5.5 million and the #7 spot for Lionsgate. EDGE OF DARKNESS claimed the #8 spot with $4.8 million for Warner Bros.

CRAZY HEART earned $4.2 million and the #9 spot. Rounding out the top ten, WHEN IN ROME earned $3.7 million for Buena Vista.
