Tintin Marks Biggest Animation Opening in India

After opening over the weekend in India, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN had the largest opening weekend for an animated feature in the country's history, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Steven Spielberg's performance capture adventure earned 73.5 million rupees ($1.46 million), which knocked off DreamWorks' KUNG FU PANDA 2, which made 55 million rupees ($1 million) in its opening weekend in May. The release also set records for Spielberg in India and the number of screens at 350.
